My name is Michael and I’ve been incarcerated for eight years. This is my first time down, and I hope I’m not dumb enough to ever come back. College grad, Biochemistry. I worked in the medical field at UTSW for several years as a tissue technician and was set to start my Masters as a PA, but life definitely had some changes in store.
I try to keep busy. I work as a librarian, previously did retrofitting on law enforcement vehicles at my last spot. Work out daily, as a Type 1 Diabetic it’s a must. I read constantly, spent four years in a band before COVID hit (love to share music tastes), enjoy writing (I have finished five novels while incarcerated and am currently banging my head against a wall with my sixth), have learned a little law in the past few years and have helped file both appeals and compassionate releases. Currently spend spare time in a medical unit helping out the old folks.
I look forward to receiving word from all; race, sex, age, doesn’t matter. I love to meet new people and welcome anyone who wishes to converse. Prison can be a lonely place and getting a letter or email always brightens my day. I hope knowing me might brighten yours as well.
Fun Facts To Burn Up The Three Hundred Word Limit:
I am not ashamed to admit I did try out a handlebar moustache. Unfortunately, it nearly brought me to the point of pure villainy (see second profile picture).
I send random letters of thanks to authors whose books I enjoy. Holly Black and Dean Koontz hit me back!
I can’t dance. There’s no joke here. It won’t stop me, but I am just the worst.
