Incarcerated in 1999 at the age of 19. Convicted and sentenced to prison in 2001. Unskilled in the science of law, I had no chance to win the trial. From 1995 to 2002, the Orlando-Kissimmee Florida Medical Examiner lost bullets, blood, hair and other evidence in murder cases. Missing evidence lists and logs, bags and boxes that had been cut open or had their seals broken. Bones, teeth and skulls without identification or any kind. Many evidence bags were ripped open or unsealed, there was no way to know how many cases had been cross-contaminated. Worse of all, the prosecutors kept quiet.
The Chief Medical Examiner was cooperating with the state in order to obtain convictions by any means necessary. By 2014 two expert medical examiners performed the autopsy and concluded that I am innocent. Prior to the hearing the professor passed away and the lower tribunal court did not accept the second expert opinion.
In 2020 the District Court of Appeals finally ruled my case a “manifest injustice.” On may 6, 2021 the former Deputy Chief Medical Examiner testified that the original doctor botched the autopsy and a new trial should be afforded because an innocent man still sits in a jail cell awaiting justice.
After 22 years I am now in the county jail ready to prove my innocence. I am asking for any legal assistants, attorneys, private investigators or individuals with legal connections to please contact me. I need all the help I can possibly receive. It’s tough down here in the dirty South and I have one foot out of the door.
I wrote two books, one of which explains my case and life – “Guilty By Corruption: The Dark Side of the Sunshine State”, and “The Little Boy Who Was Different”.
Hope to hear from you very soon.
