Hello my friends, first of all I’m wishing you well and the best of everything! My name is Thelton Polk; but to most of my friends here in prison and on the outside in the community and entertainment world, I’m known by my M.C. name "K-nine" or "Sir-Rap-Alot".
   Yes, I’m an artist. I write songs, raps and poetry. I call my raps "street poetry" because I come from the rough neighborhoods in inner city of Houston, Tx., namely the 5^th Ward and Trinity Gardens sections. As a matter of fact, in 1986 I was one of the original founding members of and lead rapper/singer in the Ghetto Boys rap group of 5^th Ward in Houston, Tx. I’m featured on the Ghetto Boys record cover of their debut 12 inch single titled "Car Freaks". This was before the more famous members, Mr. Scarface, Bushwick Bill and Willie D. formed the newer group of Geto Boys known today… And that’s where they inherited the name "Rap-A-Lot"…from "Sir-Rap-Alot"….me. I come up for parole in 2006.
    Anyway, I’m in prison now and I have been since 1990. I’m a first time convicted felon charged with burglary of a habitation. I’m 5’7", 160 lbs…strong. I’m spending most of my time these days reading magazine interviews of entertainers in the Hip-Hop industry. I have a very nice collection of African History books and Social Studies books; I love to study and read often. I’m also very interested in the state of world affairs and ever hopeful that more education, drug treatment and money be made available to our world's poor people. So I write my raps, songs, and poetry about these issues and others. I’ll share some with you. Oh! I'm in my 30's... a Sagittarius.
    At this time I spend 23 hours a day in a single cell room because I’m in administrative segregation. I’m allowed 2 hours to recreate each day.   So, I’d like more friendly people to correspond with. Men and women are welcome to write me. Hopefully you enjoy down to earth conversation, some sharing of creative writing (Poetry? Raps?) and fun! I’m currently writing a book of street poetry. Hope to hear from you soon.
