Prison boy went to prison one day to find his true love gone away
When he asked the reason why with these words she replied
If you had led a decent life l would have gladly been your wife
But since you chose the life of crime, prison boy do your time
Prison boy laid dead the next day but in a letter he did say
Dig a grave and dig it deep, lay a rose upon my feet
On my chest lay a turtle dove to show the world I would die for love
So all you girls bear in mind, a prison boy is hard to find
If you find one, love him true, a prison boy will die for you
