Melvin Watters

Though this meeting is not taking place in person, I’m hoping these words can transcend the normal means of communication and illustrate the honor I feel in being granted the opportunity to leap into the unknown.

For hours I’ve pondered what to say and attempted to formulate the right sentences to grasp your attention, and in the end I’ve come to the conclusion I can only be me and leave the rest to you.

I’m seeking that which I’ve never known, “true friendship”, and I’m looking to surpass the normal acquaintances I’ve been accustomed to and delve into something more substantial.

A few words can’t describe the characteristics which define who I am. But a few words can tell you I’m not complicated or difficult to associate with. I’m not a psychopath with an alter ego or multiple personalities, nor am I a needy person.

I’m a man who likes to smile and make people feel comfortable around me. I’m very sociable and attentive when spoken to. I’ve learned to broaden my way of thinking in order to relate to others and will admit I lack knowledge in certain aspects of life, but I’m willing to learn if someone is willing to teach me.
I’m an artist, musician, and poet so my imagination is very active. I’m health-minded, exercise daily, and eat as healthy as my conditions will allow me.
Please know I have nothing to hide, and am willing to elaborate on the reason for being incarcerated, just ask.

Should you open the door of communication, I will be extremely grateful and attribute the occasion to a blessing and honor it as such.
