Realization
For the last sixteen years, California State and Federal Courts have refused to review my father’s and my wrongful convictions due to a procedural bar called the AEDPA (1996 Anti-Terrorist Effective Death Penalty Act). The bar vas applied to us since our former appellate attorney filed our appeals late, after the mandatory one year deadline. In 2007, the State Bar of California found the attorney had committed professional misconduct in our case and he resigned with charges pending. However, the Courts are still barring us from any appellate review.

As our last available option, we filed Applications For Executive Clemency in 2005 with the Governor of California, however, he has yet to review our claims.

Need Your Help
In about seven years, I will be eligible for parole. To prepare for the transition into society, I seek to pursue a higher education so I will have the skills necessary to survive and be a productive citizen upon release. I recently received my Associate of Arts Degree.

I am currently enrolled at Coastline Community College in Fountain Valley, California, the Distance Learning Program, with over 60 units completed (Enough for an AA Degree) with a GPA of 4.0. I plan to transfer the units and attend California Coast College in Santa Ana, California to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. The tuition fee for the remaining 13 classes is $5,400.00 (Five thousand, four hundred dollars) which includes books. The State and Federal government, since 1996, no longer provides Pell Grants for prisoners to obtain a college degree.

While in prison, I have been provided with avenues to better myself because of people who have given me a chance. I need your help to raise the tuition fee so I may have the opportunity to complete a bachelors Degree, a goal which I was not able to achieve due to my untimely arrest at age 23. Any contribution would help, whether it be one dollar, five dollars, or more.

I will send you any necessary information you seek upon request to prove this is a credible and genuine plea for help. Just write me.
