I am writing this letter with the hopes it will attract the attention of someone in society who believe in justice and a strong opponent of injustice, for injustice is clearly the core in my situation.

First and foremost I don’t proclaim to be a decorated saint. As a matter of fact, I’ve had my share of misfortune with the law and every time I accepted the responsibility and consequences of my actions. However I do declare my innocence in my current situation and refuse to accept the state falsely imprisoning me due to a personality clash that a detective had with me.

On April 30, 2005, three people were robbed and assaulted in a house. It wasn’t until five (5) months after the incident that I was charged and then convicted of three counts of aggravated robbery, three counts of robbery and five counts of felony assault. I received 99 years for three crimes although the suspect, who was identified and admitted to the crimes, and wrote an affidavit stating that he doesn’t know me and will testify on my behalf, only received 12 years.

My conviction was the work of a frustrated, manipulative and vindictive detective who despised my lifestyle – a lifestyle that was arrogant, cocky and refuse to submit to corrupt authority.

I didn’t matter to the state that I was trying to change my life. All they saw was a fearless Black man with the appearance of a thug, who refused to bow down to the racial establishment in Cincinnati. The state knew that once I was convicted, it would be an uphill battle to win my case on appeal with no money and only a Public Defender to represent me.
