REDEMPTION GUMBO

Alvin
Kimbrough
You start with love, dipped in holy water then bring to a boil in adversity. Add years of soul from Martin to Zora Heale Hurston the blues and Motown sound for flavor. When the soul is just right dash with inspiration of Detroit and a red pepper for flavor. Stir continuously with ambition, drive and raw desire for success. Refine with Wanyne State University and hard work until a four hundred year old soul is awaken and craves true freedom. Slowly simmer with a love for life, add passion from Bantu Africa, and mix well with good old England and some Cheyenne for texture. Fill with reflections on hot summer nights listening to crickets and drinking lemonade while swinging on wooden porches with silly laughs about nothing, and summer hats made of straws. Lilies and sugar cane, and when the Moon is just full an occasional Kiss from the stars above. Add a heap of affection for all mankind and a true love for people, be very generous with acceptance and everyone’s right to chose their own way in life. Garnish with refreshing intelligence and maturity and serve wrapped in eye candy, carefully cooling in humility. Redemption Gumbo goes well with all appetites but is best served with faith and compassionate hearts.
I want to thank you for reading my recipe and allowing me to share a little bit about myself. I placed this ad to meet some nice people to increase my fellowship and have some fun, so if my ad made you smile even a little bit it has accomplished its goal. I am a pragmatic person who has not made it through this last years of prison without faith, so I must state that I relate to people of faith more. God’s grace has kept me. I’ve had some tough days and some great days and I spend everyday making the most of it. I am a Paralegal and I work as a law clerk in the prison’s library. I read quite a bit, exercise daily and spend no day without laughter. I broke the law once and I have paid dearly, but God’s grace forgave me and I am reaching out to the public to share a kind word or be a benefit to someone. I still have hope in people and believe that most people mean each other well; if you do too then please know you’re welcome to write. Thanks again for reading my ad.
