Click. Click. Click. STOP! No need to click any further, you’ve found him. That person, that friend, the man you’ve been looking to share your heart with. That’s me. I know life is crazy. I’ve learned that, too. Sometimes you lay awake at night, in your bed, and wonder if anyone else thinks similar thoughts. I there a God out there? Are there any real people still left in this world? Is it all about “likes” and “views”, or can we truly connect anymore? That’s what it’s all about really, connection. Connection with your true self, connection with God, connection with someone who knows you unfiltered.
Let me share something with you … I’m looking for that, too. A friend to share my heart with who isn’t going to judge me based on their expectations of who they think I should be. A friend that when they hear me say “I’m a Christian” doesn’t cringe in criticism, or think that I’ll do the same when they say they aren’t. A friend that isn’t afraid to blend their differences and similarities with me. In my opinion it’s the differences, more than similarities, that make life fun. That may be because I’m biracial and I’ve experienced the beautiful blend of “different”.
Let me tell you a little about me. Physically? 6 feet 1 inch, 190 pounds, light-brown skin and tatted up. My mom, white. My dad, black. So don’t let racial differences stand in our way. I’m athletic and in shape. Physically, I’m blessed.
Mentally? I’m highly intelligent and love learning new things. I take college courses for fun; written a book, screenplay and numerous short stories, poems and songs. I think deeply and love to plumb the depths of life, spirituality, and existence. If we aren’t in touch with the core of … being human, then we aren’t experiencing life to the full.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not just some pedantic schmuck. I love to laugh! At stupid stuff, too. Like the latest Adam Sandler flick (not a lot of things soothe like a good laugh, you know?). I’m just as comfortable veggin out in front of the T.V. as I am discussing spirituality. A few of my favorite movies are “Dirty Dancing” (don’t judge, lol), “Ace Ventura Pet Detective”, “Die Hard” and “The Choice”. My favorite T.V. show now is “The Walking Dead”.
Most people when they meet me ask questions like “How is someone like you where you are?”, as if life’s as easy as “thug=prison” or “intelligence=lawyer”. It’s not. The best people sometimes find themselves in the worst spots, and the worst can end up as president. A-hem. That’s life, an infinite web of individual journeys connecting in time. Some predictable, others like you and I, not so much. What’s truly fascinating isn’t that I’m here, but that you and I may never actually meet because of some misguided misconceptions we hold. Let’s get over those, together.
I’m looking for the mature, established, selfless, open-minded woman who knows her outer beauty only hints at the inner treasury of her heart. Who knows age or race, past or present, only season true friendship. The person who looks at the surface of a thing and is eaten up with curiosity by the possibility of what’s within.
Connection. Exploration. Discovery. The path of true friendship and lasting love. I hope you’re intrigued by this small glimpse of me and I’m hoping we’re lucky enough to start on that first step. Connection.
